LEAGUE FAQ
LEAGUE OUTLINE:
Level based competition, co-ed divisions from 1 to 3 with UTR bands as follows:f
- Level 1 - Unrated to 1.65 UTR
- Level 2 - 1.66 to 2.50 UTR
- Level 3 - 2.50 to 3.25 UTR
- Level 4 - 3.26+ UTR
- Is this tournament recognized by UTR and matches counted towards UTR rating?
Yes, all match scores will be reported into the UTR system. - Is Coaching allowed during a match by parents and/or coaches?
No. Once both players step onto the court for their match, no coaching is allowed at all. Parents are required to be outside the playing area at all times. Acceptance into the league is based upon all players having the understanding and ability to facilitate a 2 set (to 6 games) match, call their own lines, and be independent of officiating. - How are line calls handled? The players call lines on their own and in the context of a "Gentleman's Game" of lines are IN, the player puts the opponent before themselves and when both sides do this they both "win". If both players are unable to come to a consensus they must replay the contested point.
- What about bad line calls or blatant cheating, how do you handle that?
The players each call their own lines, but if a player insists that the match integrity was completely corrupted then both players will be asked to meet with Coach Nate for a match review. Discipline leading to match default and/or removal from the league could be instituted as remedy for not following the laws of the game and spirit of fair competition.
We encourage FAIR and HONEST play at all times.

- Covid-19: Tennis inherently is a socially distanced sport especially when played outdoors (95% of our tournaments are outdoors); each match we encourage 6 ft spacing and proper safety for each player. We are pleased to announce that as of 5/15/22 we are mask-optional for all stands and spectator areas.
- We ask that any participants that have had symptoms, or have been exposed to anyone showing symptoms in the previous 10 days to withdraw early, see FAQ 3, and sign up for our next tourney. This keeps us all healthy, safe and doing what we love to do - play tennis!
- Mask guidelines and policies are adopted from the local and state recommendations and we do encourage a "Tennis Attitude" of courtesy, respect, understanding and grace.
Most of all: We ask that you Be Kind, Be Respectful, after all - your children are watching.
We include additional Covid-19 information, and require a COVID-19 Waiver signed regarding tournaments and lessons.

- 32-64 oz Water Bottle (not bottled water)
- Tennis bag of some sort
- Towel (small athletic-type towel)
- Extra t-shirt or two
- Jacket
- Athletic pants
- Tennis balls
- Extra grip (optional)
- Stretchy bands (optional)
- Lip balm (encouraged)
